Medicare Supplement
What is Medicare Supplement?
A Medicare Supplement Plan, sometimes called a Medigap policy, is another alternative to help consumers pay for the 20% of out-of-pocket expenses that Medicare B does not cover, such as copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles.
Like Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement Insurance is sold only by private companies.
Unlike many Medicare Advantage Plans, however, Medicare Supplemental Insurance policies do not include prescription drug coverage. You will need to purchase a prescription drug plan separately if you want your medications covered.
